    I am currenty trying to re do my site and switch it from wix to wordpress. Can I design the new site on word press before I get charged the yearly fee? I’d like to get it all ready then make it live and start paying the fees. Thanks.

    Hello @antibroadcasting,
    You can create a site for free on WordPress.COM. But here’s what you wont get on a free plan:
    • A custom domain like example.com
    • Ability to remove WordPress Ads
    • Monetizing your site with WordAds
    • Ability to upload videos using VideoPress
    • SEO tools
    • Remove the WordPress.COM branding
    • Unlimited Access to premium themes(only available on Premium and Business plans)

    So if you do not need these features while creating your site and getting things ready then you can stay on the free plan, if not then you will have to upload to a paid WordPress.COM plan.
