  Is there a monthly payment plan? Do I have to pay for each website/domain seperately?

  No, there isn’t. You can only pay annually.

  Thank you! What about porting the site I create to a hosting service? How does this process work? My client is undecided on where he wants the site hosted.

  Yes. It’s good to start with the free plan or the personal plan(which costs 2.99 p/m). You can upgrade more anytime if you need more functionalities, and the upgrade doesn’t affect your contents that you created at all.

  Sorry, one more question. When I choose a hosting service, either GoDaddy or DreamHost, do I make design and content changes on WordPress sor the hosting service?

  When you choose to run a self-hosted site with hosting services, you can choose both using WordPress.org software and not using it. If it’s with WordPress.org software, you manage contents and a design through WordPress. If it’s not with WordPress.org software, basically you need to do everything from scratch including web-designing, coding and managing contents.
