New Wensite
-
Hi,
I just created a new website, by importing it from SquareSpace and migrating the domain to WP.
I already own another 3 websites I created with WP.
I already migrated all the content from SquareSpace and payed the $19 to migrate the domain. But the WP interface is different from my other sites. For instance, I don’t get a DASHBOARD, and the PLUGIN menu it just appears as PLUGINS …. no submenuWP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For some reason the website has been created as byaservicios.wordpress.com and the domain appears as migration “in progress”, even though I added the domain code from my service provider.
When I put byaservicios.com/wp-admin wordpress responds with “this site is connected to SquareSpace, if you own this domain you can claim it in Manage domain, but I cannot find it….

Hi there,
Are your other three sites hosted with us here at WordPress.com? If not, the dashboard UI is slightly different on WordPress.com compared to what you may see under a self-hosted WordPress site. However, you should be able to view your dashboard by visiting:
https://byaservicios.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
Also, there is no submenu under Plugins because they are not currently enabled under your site. You would need a plugin-enabled plan to install and use plugins on WordPress.com.
May I ask what some of the goals you have for your site are? If you want to add plugins, I would recommend the Business Plan, as it will not allow you to install custom plugins and themes but also provide no ads, 200 GB of media library space, SFTP access, real-time backups, and more. Please let me know how we can further assist. Thank you!

I saw that you had two threads and have now merged them so we can keep the conversation in one thread.

Okay, I see that you are trying to transfer the domain over to WordPress.com. So, I want to confirm where you are in the process (steps to transfer the domain can be found here). Have you unlocked the domain at Squarespace and received a transfer auth code?
The nameservers of byaservicios.com are still pointed away from WordPress.com, most likely towards Squarespace. You’ll need to change the domain nameservers at from there and point them over to WordPress.com. Our nameservers are:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COMI found the instructions on how to transfer the domain from Squarespace’s end here:
Transferring from Squarespace
Please let us know where you are in the process and we’d be happy to help from this end. The domain connection is set up, you’ll just need to complete a few steps on Squarespace’s end to complete everything.
Hope this helps. -
OK…. Thank you for the info!!!!
I wanted to keep the website to a minimum, a FREE plan (as I have on my other sites). Most them only have two plugins, Starter Templates and Elementor. The website is simple and only need those two.
My problem is that I already paid the $19.00 for migrating the domain…
Do I need to go back? What about the money I paid for the domain?

Hi!
I wanted to keep the website to a minimum, a FREE plan (as I have on my other sites). Most them only have two plugins, Starter Templates and Elementor. The website is simple and only need those two.
It sounds like maybe you’re paying for hosting on those sites, and also taking care of maintenance/security/backups yourself? Our hosting includes all of that and support, plus several add-ins that we include at WordPress.com, like spam filtering. You may not even need Elementor.
My problem is that I already paid the $19.00 for migrating the domain…
Got it; that’s a domain transfer. It adds one year to your domain registration when the transfer is complete, even if you continue to point the domain to other services. That said, I usually don’t see folks transferring domains without having a hosting plan here. Typically they will either buy a new domain for later use, or buy a hosting plan and register or transfer a domain to go with it. And that’s included free with our annual plans.
The transfer is not complete yet from what I can see. Given that, what would you like to do? You’d be welcome to host here with us. If you get an annual plan that would include a free transfer, we can refund the transfer fee.
Or, so long as you don’t finish up the domain transfer, we can refund that for you. You just wouldn’t want to cancel after the transfer is complete.
Let us know what you would like to do. And if it helps, this guide talks about the differences between the free WordPress software and our managed hosting services.
