New widget area widgets displaying as list items

  Hi all,

  I’m attempting to add a new widget area to a wordpress site, and for some reason the widgets in each area are showing up as list items instead of as divs. see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wj4ln95uttvojhn/Untitled-1.jpg?dl=0

  The problem is probably in the PHP, but I know next to nothing about PHP, so.

  Where is the widget code for this widget please? Are you aware that no JavaScript widgets or iframes can be used on WordPress.COM blogs?
