New Word Press features not user friendly – users with health issues

    Good day,

Some of the users on WordPress.com are having a lot of accessibility problems with the new settings and changes you have done to simple things such as the stat page and now the Notifications. We used to be able to open a new window or tab for the notifications. It is thus easier to see what is going on.
Especially when you have a lot of notifications this is not really user friendly.

Now one of the users i read has problems scrolling and so forth because of disability. i.e he can’t really scroll properly. This means he now can’t access his old stat page because it is way at the bottom of the screen. Also now with the notifications he can’t access them all because now he has to sroll down.

These features are supposed to make using Word Press easier! But they don’t. Kindly develop user friendly things that will make it easy for anybody, even persons with disabilities or health issues such as arthritis or Fibro to be able to use your site. If you are already using a word to text program to write your blog posts because typing is difficult how do you expect such a user to be able to use use these new unfriendly features?

Please direct me to the correct place to lodge this as feedback…

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m thinking as well that there are people with health issues who must have problems with the constant changes. Different header bars on every other page with different ways they work, the new changes in the classic dashboard (instead of the site name it’s now ‘My Sites’ with an added ‘View site’ and so on. I can imagine that people with issues like, e. g., some forms of autism or maybe asperger’s are having a hard time about that. Correct me if I’m wrong.
WP was easy to manage when I joined three years ago and it used to be fun blogging. Now it has become time consuming, hard work. I would really love if the people at WP would notify users in one form or another when a change has been made and not surprise everyone and have them to find out on their own how it works.

I completely agree with the changes to notifications specifically. I liked the separate box that came up as well. I also don’t like how less information is show in the same about of screen real estate for notifications. Also, this morning more than once I tried to reply to a notification and it never accepted so I had to once again go back to the person’s blog and the comment and respond there. This is WAY too many clicks for someone like me who struggles with nerve damage. I already have enough difficulty with this. I never had that issue with the previous notification list.
