New WordPress Site – Domain Assignment

  Is there a way for me to build my new website without assigning a domain name to it right now? I’d like to assign the domain name after I have had a chance to create the site. I already own the domain but I’m just playing around right now learning WordPress.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi there,

  You can create WordPress.com website with free plan. You can assign free domain name for your website for time being. For free plan you will have WordPress.com in your domain name. For example abc.wordpress.com

  Once you get comfortable with WordPress.com and customize your site the way you want, then you can map or transfer your domain to WordPress.com
