New WordPress.com domain to old wordpress.com blog
-
Hi,
I have a blog http://thelifeunscripted.wordpress.com and I would like to keep the same content, but for the domain to be http://thepracticeweblog.wordpress.com. I’ve “claimed” the new domain on wordpress. I understand how to export info from the old blog to the new… but unsure how to redirect from the old one to the new. It would also be easier if I could just add “http://thepracticeweblog.wordpress.com” to my old blog and keep blogging as usual. Then I could also keep my comments on my about page, which didn’t transfer when I exported/imported to “thepractice” blog.
Many thanks for any assistance you can give!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can’t redirect the old domain, the only thing you can do is post a link to your new blog.
-
Also, if you do that, make sure to delete everything else after you’ve exported/imported so it won’t count as duplicate content.
Or you could just delete the blog, but then your readers won’t know where you’ve moved to.

Once a blog is deleted that name/URL cannot be used again. Why not simply make it private? I have found that I make lots of use of private blogs for testing things and for accumulating new ideas.

Hello there yogamonster,
I came back to ask you to please do not delete this blog. This is a good name so if you truly do not wish to make it private and use it as a test blog, journal, or blog to keep ideas in then please transfer it to me instead.
