  Map domain of transfer? Not sure which I should do. Thx. Abi

  Hey Abi,

  With domain mapping – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related:

  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Domain transfer – You will be moving your domain entirely to WordPress.com and you be managing everything site related to WordPress.com. To transfer you, you need to have owned it for at least 60 days.

  So to answer your question, Domain Mapping vs. Domain Transfer – the choice is absolutely yours. Both methods work just fine.

  Transferring is useful if you prefer to have your website costs all billed in one place. Domain Mapping is useful if you have a specific registrar that you prefer to use.

  Operationally, they will work just fine either way on WordPress.com. Visitors entering your domain name will be sent to your website.
