newbie deciphering real comments from spam

Hello, Im still on the learning curve. This person did actualy visit my post page and the comment is relavent sort of. They refer to a “product” as a”tool” and that makes me think they didnt read the post. The user name is a comercial site.I aproved it already. But I see that TIMETHEIF advised on march 26, 2010 that it is possible to delete the link to a commercial site and THEN post the comment. How would I go about doing that? and do you think it was spam? the post the comment is on is called, How to keep cats off of wooden furniture. Thank you guys for your help, theres so much to learn about blogging.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Where is the comment, on which post?

    This,

It’s a pretty interesting tool. I will definitely be using it once I get the chance. Thanks for sharing!

is most definitely a spam comment. Anytime you see over general comments such as this, it is almost certainly spam, especially if Akismet catches it. Akismet is actually very accurate.

To remove a link, you “edit” the comment and then remove the link from the “website” field.

I would spam this comment though.

Thank you Sacred path I’ll do that.

I would “spam” it. If you remove the link the spammer will check the blog and see you posted the comment without the link and spam your blog again.
