Newbie: Hosting at DreamHost

I used the one-click install on dreamhost so I could have my blog address be part of my website domain as opposed to having a blog.wordpress.com site. I’m noticing that when logged into my dashboard for my blog “mydomain.com/blog” I do not have access to things like these forums, getting an API key, upgrading to premium services. I created this login separately so that I could post this question.

The only login I currently have for “mydomain.com/blog” is an admin login. Do I need to create an additional user on that account to access these other services? Or are they only available if hosting on wordpress?

Hopefully I’ve explained this well enough. Any assistance is appreciated.

WordPress.COM and wordpress.ORG are not really connected. To get an API key to use for Akismet or blog stats you have to sign up for an account here (you don’t have to have a blog here though).

Also, these forums are for wordpress.COM blogs, and the software you are using is different from what we use here and most answers here do not apply to you. The forum for self-hosted blogs is http://wordpress.ORG/support/ .

Thanks for clearing that up. I’ll repost over at .org and see if they can help.
