Newbie: install went fine, now site points to my isp’s default construction page

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello there. I’m brand new to WordPress and have very little knowledge of all the “basics” I’ve been reading on the forum and support pages.

I am hosted by 1 and 1. Created the myslq 5 database, uploaded wp with filezilla to the database, installation went fine as far as I can tell. At my wp admin page, when I click the “visit” site link the browser opens to a “default construction page” provided by 1 and 1.

Can anyone explain the how/what/where to fix this – and I mean literally in 4 year old idiot language.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Could it have something to do with the default index file that your hosting provider installs on your domain when you buy your hosting?
