Newbie needs direction in adding automatic content feed.

I’m very new to wordpress and blogging and I’ve had a site setup to draw automatic content from rss feeds on specific subjects, updated regularly by cronjob.
Now I want to add an additional rss feed to provide additional automatic content with auto-update.
I added the feed url (validated) in wp-admin and set it as ‘contributor’, however it doesn’t appear on the blog so there is obviously something I’m missing. I’d like to do it myself if I can but need some help in pointing me in the right direction.
When offering help (I hope!) please remember that ‘oldbie’ is indeed an oldbie as well as a newbie :)

Wrong site as we wouldn’t be doing any of that around here. You need to be over at the software support site http://wordpress.org
Once you get over there, explain how you added a feed URL as a user because as far as I know, you can’t do that.

Okay, sorry to trespass!
I added the feed as Admin, as I said the site was setup for me.
