Newbie – Please help with my tags

  Hi There,

  If there is anyone who could shed some light for me, this would be greatly appreciated!

  Call me dumb.. It’s probably something stupid I am doing, but I have posted a new topic on my blog, this can be located at bythefireside.wordpress.com, but it doesn’t seem to be appearing in the tags that I have tagged it as..

  Points I have considered:

  1. I have been into a few forums, to no avail..

  2. Do I need to wait a while before it is listed, if so, how long?

  3. I have all privacy stuff enabled for google etc in my admin settings..

  Please help, it’s so annoying – I have some good fireplace techy info to share ;)

  but I can’t get listed…

  New blogs have a wait time before their posts are included in global tag pages, probably to prevent spammers from capitalizing on the advantages. Stick around and contribute and you’ll show up.

  The top one..

  Or to be precise, the one that states ‘I would like my blog to appear in search engines like Google and Sphere, and in public listings around WordPress.com. ‘

  That is right. It just takes time for this to work its way through the system.

  Some new blogs don’t always show your blog on the tags you pick. Yet, WordPress may have blocked you from tags, in some cases. Maybe you should contact them to see if that is true.

  Chewy, by the way, is just trying to stir up trouble. You may contact staff if you like, but the fact is they will probably just say that it takes time to show up in the tag searches, as we have said.
