Newbie screwed up CSS with Ice Rocket Blog Tracker
-
I know now I had no business trying to do this myself–I know that now. However, I when I found Ice Rocket Blog Tracker I thought I understood the directions and tried to attach it to my CSS–I even paid to add Update CSS to my profile–but didn’t realize the difference between JavaScript and CSS. (It looked the same to me! That’s why I’m the English grad student and my husband is the computer programmer, yes?) Oh, how I wish I had read the forum stating that Ice Rocket wouldn’t work on here because it uses Java!
My problem is that since I tried to add this to my style sheet yesterday, I’ve had trouble if I’ve attempted to switch to a different theme–the dark themes end up white and the columns are out of whack. (At least I think this is what caused the problem–never noticed it before.) Is there any way to restore my blog so my awful attempt at changing it can be wiped out, and I can have the option to changing my blog to one of the darker themes that fits my writing more? Is there any hope to wiping out my folly?
I promise I will not attempt to edit CSS on my own–my husband may not know the language yet, but he’s going to learn so he can help me. (I hope!)
Thank you to the forum hosts–you are gods to me! I feel as if I stand before the Tower of Babel.

go to the edit css page in presentation (via dashboard), select all the css in it (ctrl + a) and remove everything. then save it. i managed to clear up my css that way.

since you paid for your css upgrade you might want to consider having a different look than the usual themes offered in presentation.

Thank you! yes, I will have my husband help me this time. Since this is my writing blog, I wanted to make it as professional as possible, and be able to track who my audience is to gauge who I reach with what I write, I paid for the extras. I will have to ask my husband though. He says “oh, something else to do in my copious free time,” but I think it will be a fun activity for us. At least he’ll be amused by my lack of knowledge in his field!
