Newbie – Transfering to wp.org

    I am just getting the hang of wp.com and I am thinking to transfer to a domain with wp.org. If I keep building my wp.com page will all my work be wasted or can I just export everything as I have worked on ? keeping all my media …pics, mp3’s..

    Also, would I have to change the URL’s to the links on my pages or does wordpress.org software automaticllay update that? (i.e. takes into consideration the change in url I am using….

    Simply export blog from wp.com and import into wp.org
    If you have made internal links, say linking from username.wordpress.com/year/month/date/post1 to post username.wordpress.com/year/month/date/post2, this will have to be updated manually in the blog.
