Newbie trying to understand how to move to WordPress.org
-
In December ’11, I purchased my domain name restitchme.com, so as to drop the restitchme.wordpress.com. Ok, now I think I am ready to tackle more customization for my site, which the .com won’t allow, but I am not understanding if I have to repurchase my domain name from, say, Hostgator. Or can I keep the domain that I purchased from WordPress? Thanks, I’m fairly new to techy stuff, and trying to wrap my mind around it all.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can keep the domain name you have now. If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

Ok, I think I can manage that! Next question….I have it set up to automatically pay for the new domain name annually. Will that still work once I move to WordPress.org? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
