Newby Themes Advice

    I’m new to WP, although not to website building (having used Weebly for 10 years). I will be creating a site with a store to sell artworks, and need to find a theme that can handle the following demands:

    1. Gallery pages for art types (paintings, drawings, sculptures). Each page containing between 20 and 100 images.
    2. Indivudal product pages for each artwork with a magnifiable product image that can be alternated with 2 or 3 other aspect images, such as detail photographs, by clicking on a nearby thumbnail link. (These pages need to be accessed via the linked images in the galleries.)
    3. Each page in 3 languages, which can be navigated between with a floating 3 option language button. (Effectively I would create the website, then duplicate all the pages twice and enter the written content for the other two langauges. In Weebly I used a plugin called Multilanguage App, which handled the page navigation integration.)

    These are the core features I require, as well as adding Woo to handle sales, and a free shipping plugin.

    Any advice will be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi @jpb71, I would say you could use Jetpack Portfolios, but since you’ll be selling the artwork, it may make more sense to use WooCommerce for all of it. You can have categories and different views.

    As for multi-language plugins, I know there are several options out there. I’d recommend contacting WooCommerce sales to see if there are any that work especially well with their tools:

    They may also be able to recommend a theme that would look great with an art site. I’d recommend reaching out there.
