newly added "not on WordPress.com blogs" are not included in followed blogs list

I followed two non-WordPress.com sites today, in accordance with the instructions in the Follow a Blog Not on WordPress.com section of the Following Blogs support page, but they fail to appear among my followed blogs at the Manage Followed Blogs page, https://wordpress.com/following/manage. I’d intended to add a few more at the same time.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Couple of oddities:
1. When I update the https://wordpress.com/following/manage page, the two newly followed sites appear in the list momentarily, for about five seconds, before they disappear.
2. When they appear, the followed sites count goes down two, from 33 to 31, instead of up two, as one would expect. When they disappear five seconds later the count reverts to 33.

Have you already tried to sign out and back in to your WordPress.com account? Clear your cache, and what not?
I want to rule out the basics first. Thanks.

After doing the following:
1. logging out of the account and logging back in
2. clearing the browser cache while logged out, and running some comprehensive cleaning tools, then rebooting before logging back into the account.I am still unable to add the two non-WordPress.com sites to blogs I’m following that I attempted to add yesterday, though I was able to add a third non-WordPress.com site. It was only after adding that one that I noticed that all three appear to be self-hosted WordPress.org sites.

Was also this morning able to add a fourth site that is not a WordPress.com site and which may not be a WordPress.org site.
