Newly purchased domain has someone else’s account information

I just purchased a domain about a week ago. I am trying to create a website for that domain; it is not updating (when I hit ‘go live’ – it created a wordpress.com domain site for me which I never wanted). The live website for my domain is a godaddy squatting page. I noticed my domain’s contact information is someone else. (!!) If I try to update this contact information, it will send this person an email. I do not want that. Chat support is non-existent; I never get a human. Can anyone please help here? Thank you!
