News Format for Front Page

  I have three static pages that are the default format. Content is shown complete on each page. This is also true of the front page where my blog posts appear. I’d like to change the front page to the news format so that each post on the front page is shown as a snippet. Where do I go to change the front page format, since it’s not included in the list of pages on the dashboard?
