News of the month: embed iFrames and iPapers on WordPress.com

@butindaro – that is awesome! Thanks. I’ll be setting a page shortly using that technique.
-
Hell Yeah, thanks so much for the pointer. This got me (finally) a Picasa slideshow into my Blog.
If Vodpod made it now possible to embed Google Calendars safely… ;-)

I have followed the instructions however I am having a weird problem. When using the vodpod plugin to upload the pdf files stored in scribd site , even though post completes sucessfully; pdf file does not show up on my post. Actually post is there but its blank when right mouse clicking on the blank part (where actual pdf suppose to show up) on the post movie not loaded message appears. Same file does display using the vodpod widget on the side bar. Does anyone have any insight on why the embedded vodpod iframes not working on the pages or posts?

I’ve been playing with vodpod and trying to embed documents I uploaded to scribd.com for the past couple hours and have had no luck whatsoever. When ever I click the button and it captures the embed code, it comes up and says it cannot find the “video”. If I click the publish button all I get is a blank post. The code and stuff is there, but nothing shows up.
I’ve tried with several different files and none of them will show up although I can view them at scribd.com.
The only thing it seems to consistently do is crash Firefox.

Hi — the WordPress folks asked us to make sure our tool works just for flash video embeds. So, currently, we do not support Scribd and other sites with our tool.
With regard to Firefox crashing, can you provide us any further information to determine if this is a result of the Vodpod Post to WordPress button, including what version of Firefox you’re running?
Thanks, Mark (from vodpod)

Mark,
Thanks for letting us know on the “other than flash video.” We have all been telling people that it will work after this thread was posted.
I can’t even get it to embed a video. All I get is a blank post. According to the vodpod window, there are no problems, the video shows up in the preview, but when I “publish” it, there is nothing there. I’ve tried with videos from the vodpod site and also from other sites. The ones from other sites show up in my account on the vodpod site, but they will not show up in a post for me.

Firefox 2.0.0.14, Mac OS X 10.4.11 (all current). Neither one of these buttons work for me:

I’ve been having the same problem with VodPod the last few days. First, they’ve disabled uploading from your computer for the time being, and when I try to post videos that I already have on VodPod, suddenly nothing shows up in the post (some code, but no video). Very, very puzzling. And they haven’t make any announcements about what’s going on right now….

I was going to write up a review and how to on vodpod and using it to insert videos and other things (which are now not allowed), but at the moment, the review would only be four words: It does not work.

Looks like vodpod has a problem they are working on.

Hi all — we do seem to have a general problem with vodpod-enabled wordpress.com embeds today. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re looking into this now and will post as soon as we determine the problem.
-
Hi all — problem fixed, video embeds should work just fine. Sorry for the inconvenience, a little gremlin in the system over the weekend.
-
Thanks for that info, epigonic. BTW: Is there a standard way to suggest features to you guys?
-
Bloody hell. I should make sure to read the *entire* thread before posting!
-
Hi epigonic,
But VodPod still gives a message that uploading video has been disabled for now. What’s up with that??
