  I’d like to get a plugin (Tribulant Newsletters looks promising) that will allow me to send out emails to subscribers, collect email opt-ins properly, and provide an unsubscribe feature. I am, of course, wanting to do this in the most economical way possible. I don’t know if I can buy a ‘theme’ that will accommodate that plug in, or if I have to upgrade my account. I could use some guidance.

  Hello

  It’s not possible to add plugins to WordPress.com websites. If you do need a special plugin, you’ll want to look into the self-hosted version of WordPress (also called WordPress.org).

  To learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self-hosted), take a look at http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  However, you can do all of the above that you mention with a third-party email service and embed the sign up for on your WordPress.com website.
