What is the difference between having a newsletter through an email newletter client such as mailchimp or using the blogroll to act as a newsletter? If you’re going to just post news articles on your blog, and people follow it through the “follow” button, doesn’t this feature work similar to email newsletters?

If you use an external mail client like mailchimp you can put ads or additional content on your newsletter. It depends on the restrictions of the newsletter platform.

The Follow button does work similarly to email newsletters, except for the possibility of content NOT on the blog, and ads.

Which one would be a better choice? Just to go with Mailchimp?

What are your goals for the newsletter?

The goal is to let everyone know of the new opportunities, events, equipment, classes & products being offered at our gym. We would like to do an overview of the prior month for members who may have not had the chance to be apart of it. We also want to use it to share pictures & videos of members to encourage more people to get involved.

What else could we do with a newsletter?
