Mark, you don’t allow advertising on your hosted service last I heard. Is newstack hosted? If so why don’t you pull it yourself. In your rules you have this leeway. Right? Can you edify me as to why you would allow this WP “Member” to tarnish WP’s great (really great)reputation. Newstack does not even identify WordPress–that is infringement on your platform as well. Personally I have no problem with ads but not when the blogger is enriched by others’ labor. This kind of trolling must come to a grinding halt. It’s not good for the blogosphere, analytics and will jade the corporate community further. Technorati seems to be working on it (Nita’s comment). Why don’t you pull David Sifry (Technorati founder) and Robert Scoble (member) into this dialogue. Scoble waxes about transparency of the web–there is none in Newstack and the like-minded. We cannot allow the blogosphere to descend this way–it must be held to the highest standards. We must not allow a trolling underworld to flourish. This is not a small forum–this is a big deal. It won’t bode well for Google either–it will render advertisers skeptics. No advertiser wants to unknowingly pay for Newstack-style splogging. That’s put branding down the toilet.

Newstack is not hosted here – they are free to behave as they wish.
No-one using WP has to identify that fact – it’s not a condition of use.
Sites like these are all over the place. This thief is not alone – but the only means of redress is to yell at their host, complain to the ad-provider. It’s pointless dragging others in – they have no more influence than we do.

And I seriously doubt google give a damn – after all, they make cash when those ads are clicked too.
