Newsworthy Theme's Connect Feature
-
How do I remove the “Connect” widget from the sidebar of the Newsworthy theme? I’ve found how to edit it in the customize area, but I can’t for the life of me find where to remove/delete it altogether. Thank you!

You can see all your widgets in your Dashboard at Appearance > Widgets.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
You can edit your widgets from there. What is the address of your website?

It’s not in the Widgets section. “Connect” is theme specific.
The first widget I see on the Widgets editing screen is the one to buy my book, not the Connect widget.

Hi,
I tried changing my theme to Newsworthy and I didn’t get the Connect widget so it’s not a setting that is on by default.
Can you try going to Appearance > Menus then in the Manage Locations tab, see if you have menu called Social Links or Connect or something similar?
If it’s not there, go to Appearance > Widgets again and check the first widget. Look at the first couple of lines of code and see if it says anything like Facebook or Twitter.
If that doesn’t work, do you have the CSS upgrade? Is it possible you added the links via CSS?

It doesn’t appear as a menu, though it is in the customize features below CSS. Since I’ve been unable to find anywhere to remove it as a feature, I checked the code and discovered it’s a div class called social-links. I applied a CSS display:none to it. It’s now invisible and doesn’t impact any of the rest of the widgets or page content.
