Newsy: carousel background

The sacred path will want to throttle me, and who could blame him?
:-
Having had my 3 galleries working nicely without that hideously ugly black frame over the past day, thanks to him, I’ve now decided that they might look nice with a single pixel frame, rather than being kind of … naked.
But with the transparent black (!) achieved by using the 4 0s, I know not how to render a 1 (or maybe 2? dunno) px border.

a) You’re talking about slideshow galleries, not carousel slideshows. The carousel slideshow s this:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#jp-carousel-37313b) The transparency is achieved by the fourth 0 alone. The first three numbers control the color and the fourth number controls the degree of transparency. When the fourth is 0 (=fully transparent) you see no color at all so it doesn’t matter what the other three numbers are, plus you can write “transparent” instead (see below). And when you want a fully opaque color you don’t need the four numbers anyway: you can use the hex way.
c) Your images have varying shapes so a single pixel frame won’t look good in my opinion. Try it and see if you like it:
.slideshow-window { background-color: transparent !important; border: 1px solid #456789 !important; }If you don’t like it, you can change the color of the original hideous thing.

My apologies for using the wrong terminology: I’ve found myself confusing the two very often.
I added some padding, as without the images were, for some reason, all fractionally overlapping the bottom border.
Thank-you very much for this!
