Next steps to moving my wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org

  I want to move my wordpress.com blog to wordpress.org in the near future. I don’t have many posts and my blog is pretty simple. First, since I registered my domain almost a year ago on wordpress.com, how does this exactly transfer to wordpress.org? Will I run into any issues there? Second, I was looking into the guided transfer, but it seems it’s simple enough to do it myself. Any suggestions or tips on that? Also, does anyone have any host recommendations?

  If you’ve registered your domain through WordPress.com and now want it to point to a blog or website hosted elsewhere then you can do this by updating the nameservers. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  f you don’t and expect the same kind of hand holding support at http://wordpress.org/support/ you get here then forget that. You have to become independent – fast! The trun around time for answers is quick provided you know what you are doing to begin with. If you don’t then you will struggle.
