nextgen gallery horizontal layout

  Hi I’m new to all this but I’ve been designing a site using the big square theme and I’m using nextgen gallery and the layout always seems to go verticle on most browsers I’ve found one old version of fire fox that it seems to work properly the gallery is using the compact theme and is showing float left in the css is there a fix for this or shall I just try a new gallery any suggestions?

  I forgot to include that I want this to have a horizontal layout on the thumb nails I’ve been trawling the net for answers but haven’t got anywhere
