NextGen: Gallery path does not exist and could not be created
-
I have recently installed Photocrati and along with it Nextgen Gallery and NextGen Pro with the intent of selling photography prints, however I cannot upload my galleries on my website and dont know why. I have everything updated, I have uninstalled everything but Nextgen Gallery, everything is set up exactly like tutorials tell me to do, and still nothing.
I am using Gutenberg (it has made no difference without it) and the Nextgen plugin is under Text when trying to make a new block. Also, it says “No preview available” and if a block is created it states “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed”. When I go to the Manage Plugins and go to NextGen Gallery>Other Options>Image Options the first question is ‘Where you would like the galleries to be stored?’. I have the default wp-content/gallery/ and underneath it it states “gallery path does not exist and could not be created” in a red box.
This is my first time building a website and am about to start all of it from scratch. I don’t see it that difficult of a problem but can’t seem to find a solution anywhere in the web or these forums. WP Support has also said to contact NextGen as it is a third part plugin, however I do not have an account with Imagely. I apologize if this is too long and if done incorrectly, this is my first time posting on any forum.

Whoa first home page load a big size image file weight about 10 MB and 15 MB. You’ll scare visitor with long loading time. This is my advice. Resize it. My network scream loading a 5000 x 3000 photo from home page alone. It this in your post gallery, no problem then.
Can’t help with the plugin tho.

Thank you for the advice, I was just replacing images to better understand what I wanted the website to look like and will definitely resize. However, in order to sell prints, I need to use the NextGen Gallery and NextGen Pro to sell from the gallery. Otherwise I would be fine with stock gallery display option.
There is no more Image Options problem, I got rid of “wp-content” and that made the “gallery path does not exist…” box go away.
However, I still cannot preview or create a gallery. Any help into what I am doing wrong or what would be greatly appreciated as I have no idea what to do next.

Turns out, it is a problem between the NextGen Plugin and Gutenberg, and they are working on an update to resolve the issue.
Classic Editor works in the mean time.
