nginx 400 'Bad Request' and redirect errors on newly hosted domain

I recently set up a domain I already owned (bvssghost.com) to point to my hosted wordpress site (bvssghost.wordpress.com) after purchasing the $99 upgrade bundle. Even after waiting a few days for any TTLs to expire, however, I am frequently getting ‘400 Bad Request’ or ‘too many redirects’ errors in my browser, and I am unable to access the site from that domain. This persists even after clearing my browser cookies, flushing Chrome’s internal DNS cache, and flushing the system-level DNS cache.

I will check back frequently to see if anything changes over time, but I would greatly appreciate if could check that it’s set up correctly or let me know if there’s anything I’m missing. I can verify that the nameservers at the domain host are set as NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM, and NS3.WORDPRESS.COM.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • I am seeing bvssghost.com point correctly to your WordPress.com site.

I would give it another 24 hours, and if it doesn’t work by then, drop me a line again. DNS updates usually are much faster than you are experiencing, but from time to time we see one that takes longer for some reason.
