Nishita list of posts with full page width featured images?

  Hello.

  I’m using the Nishita theme for my blog (http://tavimeyer.wordpress.com/category/photo-blog/) and I like it, but have a small problem. I would like the images on the blog page (the one with a list of all posts) to take more space, like full width of the page for example and have post title underneath. Or, if it’s impossible, at least make the thumbnails bigger than 150x150px. Now, I can do that sort of thing on a normal page, either by normal means or using HTML, but I can’t seem to find the right option to do that.
  Additionally, I’ve seen Nishita based blogs that look exactly the way I want mine. I think that the problem is that I use gallery with a carousel in each post as opposed to use single images in each post, and that the featured image is as an effect 150×150.
  Changing reading settings doesn’t help. Any ideas for some way around and getting it to the looks I want it to have?
