Nishita; makine the menu horizontal
-
I’m here again, still struggeling with Nishita.
I can’t seem to find the way to make categories- except for the parent-thing.
But more important;
Is there a css-way to tweak the menu to be horizontal?
If so, I will be very happy if help is given.
(Or, if it’s not possible, that someone could tell me so)
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Creating a Custom Menu
Adding Category pages to your custom menu
Note: Categories pages and sub-pages are automatically created by the software when we assign them to posts (not pages). Until there is one post assigned to each Category there waill be no data to display.
Changing the Order of Menu Items and Creating Sub-MenusIs there a css-way to tweak the menu to be horizontal?
Nishita already has a horizontal menu bar.

Timethief; I am about to give this up. I’m mostly at a loss here.
I’m not a complete novise, but I cannot figure things here out…..on my 5th day!
Now, my pages won’t show. “Show page” ok, but going to the domain….nada.
What I’m trying to do is just a simple (I thought) little website with a few pages
containing some photos, a couple of videos and some info.
That’s all. I tried 5-6 templates, and landed on Nishita.1 post pr. page. A horizontal menu on top, black background.
I’ve had this domain sleeping for over a year, now I wanted to be alive.
I’m not sure I can do it.
I’ve been googling and searching for just about everything I can think of.Thank you for your time.

I checked http://petitpoisvideo.com/ and I see that it’s working now. Note that changes to DNS are not immediate and so it may take a few hours from the time you update settings to the time a domain starts working for you. This is normal.
I see that http://petitpoisvideo.com/ has a horizontal menu at the top.
The links timethief already posted hopefully got your categories questions covered.

Thank you, designsimply!
I’m very late staying up here i Norway to see if I can get this frontpage going.
I’ve fixed the h1,h2, etc thing by display:none;
(searching forum and finding a post from 2010)
– but I still struggle to have the post-container (?) “shortened” so that
scrolling screen to see both the picture and the meny at the same time won’t be
necessary. It’s very annoying. I have tried different sizes of photos.
I wonder if I have to set “the number of lines in post” down –
or will have to change something in the css to the body (?) -
– but I still struggle to have the post-container (?) “shortened” so that
scrolling screen to see both the picture and the meny at the same time won’t be
necessary.First, note that different computers display at different resolutions and that some people have very large monitors but then work with a browser window displayed at a smaller size. In other words, the size of the screen display for your site visitors can vary a lot.
So, for http://petitpoisvideo.com/ are you trying to get rid of some of the spacing around the image including the lighter gray background color around the image, or do you just want to make the whole design (including the image size) display smaller so it fits on your screen.

Thank you for getting back to me.
I do understand a little of css, but not enough to be sure of things.
The picture (which I’m thinking will be a “default”) is right now 1024×775 px.
When logged in, I have a space under the picture – to the grey frame – (what could it be…150-200px?). When clicking the picture, I assume I get to it’s url- and then the
space disappear. The picture is “framed” ok.
(What I call “frame” you describe as “lighter gray background color”)
But – in both cases, the height of the bottom grey area (frame/page size?) seem to be too high, causing a need for scrolling to see the whole frame+menu.
I would be happy if I could resize the bottom gray area.
My monitor has a res of 1980×1080, desktop.Yes, what is now remaining, is to make the whole design a size where
the picture+gray area+menu is visible- without scrolling – on my screen, and more
important: on most common screens. If most common screens now are 15″ /17″
laptop screens, and the usual procedure is that you HAVE to scroll, then I’ll just
leave it like this, but again- if I could resize the bottom fray area. -
Here’s how http://petitpoisvideo.com/ looks for me when I view it full screen on my laptop: http://cl.ly/FBxm/o
To reduce the spacing below the images on each page, give this a try:
.hentry, .page-link, .edit-link { margin: 0; }Add it to the bottom of your Appearance → Custom Design → CSS page.
