No access to any form of editor in WordPress
-
I was briefly able to access an in browser editor in WordPress, which seemed fairly intuitive. It has since completely disappeared, along with any means of editing my website apart from changing its title and tagline. I have tried a fresh installation of WordPress (via my host, Dreamhost) and have made attempts at using plugins for the classic editor amongst others, but this hasn’t helped. I’m left with no meaningful way to visually edit my site beyond renaming it and adding text ‘updates’ in the Add a New Post section.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks very much for getting back to me mcmanx. Due to a deadline I’ve decided to try out concrete5 instead (the URL was jlfirbank.com). I’m fairly likely to come back to wordpress eventually, though, so any brief suggestions you have would still be useful. If you’d need more information to do so, no worries, I can ask again in a few months time.

It may be worth reading up on the differences between WordPress.com (here) and the free WordPress installation you were using at Dreamhost (not here).
