No access to email account to confirm update

  I attempted to update the email address associated with my account but the current email account specified no longer exists. Apparently I need to confirm the change with an email that I should receive to the current email account but since I no longer have access to the account what can I do?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

  I can access the account, but I just can’t update the email address. I don’t think “account recovery” is the correct thing to do since it doesn’t apply to me. Any other opinions?

  Hi there,

  When you update the email address listed in your account settings, a confirmation email is sent to the new email address you’re changing to. (You don’t need access to the old email address in order to update to a new one.)

  Please check your new, correct email address for a confirmation email to confirm that email change. (You may need to check your spam/junk folder if you don’t see the email in your inbox.) If that confirmation email doesn’t arrive, please let me know.
