No Access To My Old Account – Email Not Known
-
Some time ago, I had a WordPress account and, going elsewhere to post, I deleted my account. However, my WordPress page is still live (and searchable on Google). What is worse is that many of the links on the pages are broken. My “contact” page still works and sends me an email. But, trying to access my old account stated that my email was not in the WordPress database. I could not even enter this forum for advice. So, I recreated an account just to write for help… so, HELP!!
I need access to my old page to have it deleted, or have WordPress delete all sites under my old account. Thanks in advance!

Hi! The account wasn’t deleted, so we can probably help you recover access. Here’s how:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-formWhen you use the contact form on your site, what email address is that sent to? And, are you able to log out, and log back in with that email?

Thanks supernovia, but, unfortunately, I had already tried that form. All would have been well, but it was requiring me to select any of three “Proof of Ownership” checkboxes. None of which I had because my account dates way back when. I was able to use my same email address to create a new account (to access this support site), but there is no way I can access my old pages for deletion. This may need to be done on the WordPress side.

Hmm, we see a different address on that account.
But you mentioned this:
> My “contact” page still works and sends me an email.
Usually that goes to the site’s email address, by default, but it looks like you specified a different address in the contact form. So that explains that.
Can you go ahead and reach out here?
passwordhelp@wordpress.comInclude the site link, the previous email address if you have it, and let them know the contact page goes to your current address. They’ll be able to review the case. -
Thanks supernovia, I did just as you instructed. Let’s see how it goes. Thank you for your prompt attention and pointing me in the right direction.
