No access to my own private site.
-
I started a new blog that I have set to private. However when I try to visit the site I am sent to a screen that says I need sign in to see the private site. However, I am signed in and not able to to gain access.

Hi,
Do you have multiple WordPress.com accounts? If you’re logged into a different account than the one the private site is in, then that might explain this result. I’ve called for staff attention to the topic. Staff will respond here.

Hi,
What’s the URL of the site you’re visiting?
Do you see the black WordPress.com bar when you’re trying to view it? -
Thanks for the replies..
I do have 3 sites under one account. This particular site being the 3rd. The issue only happens on desktop not when I use the mobile app to edit or visit the site.
The center of the page says “Private Site” and then telling me to log in to request access. The top right of the page the Login/Statt your website icons.
The top left has the WordPress logo. -
Go ahead and share the URL of the site if you could please. If you’d rather not share and keep it private, I understand. We’ll try to help regardless. :)
What I recommend trying next is logging out of all know logged in sessions to your WordPress.com account. Computer browsers, mobile browsers, etc.
Once you have logged out of everything…
1. Log back in through your main web browser.
2. Click on My Sites in the top-left corner, then click “Switch Site” immediately below.
That should present a list of your current sites on that account.
Do you see the site listed there? If you do, open a new window and manually type the full URL in the address bar. What was the result?

Thank you all for your replies. I didn’t post the link only because it is a private family blog site. But I did sign out as recommended and signed back in through the browser and all has resolved itself for now.
Thank you all!
