No Access to my sites – Help!
-
I own several sites on WordPress.com that I don’t have access to. They were built by contractors that I hired, but I was never provided the login credentials. No email, no password. The contractor has since fallen off the map and I can’t get a hold of him.
How can I prove ownership of the sites and consolidate them to a WordPress.com site that I do have access to?
The other sites all have links back to my main website and I’d like to go in and completely re-do the content and design of the WordPress.com sites to reflect the image of my company.
If I could provide this information to someone in support privately they would quickly understand why I want access to these sites…the content is very low quality spun content. I would love to replace it with good stuff.
I couldn’t find any other way of contacting WordPress.com Support Staff, so I’m posting here. If I have to upgrade my account to a premium one I will, but I just want to make sure that I can accomplish my goal first.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

P.S. Okay, so this form made me enter the blog that I do have access to. This is the account I’d like to consolidate the others to because I do have access to this one obviously. This content is going to be changed out as well, so don’t judge ;-)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you still have access to the email connected to the account that set up these sites, you can enter that email address in the password recovery tool. Please check your spam folder for the recovery email if you don’t receive it in your Inbox immediately:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If that doesn’t work, in order to regain access to a WordPress.com account, we’ll need one of the following things:
* The API key associated with the account. Please see this link for more information on API keys:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/api-keys/
* A Paypal Transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account. Keep in mind that since PayPal is our sole payment processor behind-the-scenes, this transaction ID was generated even if you paid via credit card or another method.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal-transaction-id/
* One or two title(s) of any unpublished draft posts or pages
Finally, please make sure you have tried testing different passwords in the login area at the top of WordPress.com. Often people can remember the password after a few tries.

Hello, thanks for your reply. I’ve considered all traditional methods of recovering passwords and usernames etc., but I never actually had access to these sites. The contractor built them for me and placed links to my regular (non wordpress.com) site and I never thought to ask for the login credentials. Definitely a mistake I won’t make again.
I guess I was hoping that by providing proof of ownership of the non-wordpress.com site, via who.is and then having someone from wordpress.com contact me, that I could gain access to these properties…since I did pay for them.
Unfortunately this guy (the contractor) just doesn’t reply to emails anymore…it’s been a couple years since he worked for me.
Anyways, I guess I’ll throw in the towel here unless I have any other options that you can think of.
Paypal receipts, email communications, dates that articles were published…still won’t do anything for me?
Thanks,

Unfortunately, the alternative options to prove site ownership I linked to above are the only items we will accept to prove ownership.
If none of this information is available, let me know. We can set this site to private, and you can create a new account by signing up here:

Sorry I couldn’t be of more assistance. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for your assistance. I don’t want to put this site to private as I actually have the access to this one. There are like 6 others that I don’t have access to though, but I haven’t posted the details of those.
I guess I’ll keep trying to get a hold of the joker that created those other sites for the login info.
Thanks Again.
