No access to WordPress account but credit card being charged (Auto payment).
-
A year ago I created a WordPress account for someone else and purchased the Premium package for $99 USD a year. Since then, the account has been transferred to him so I no longer have access to it.
It seems the credit card was set to be billed automatically every year as my PayPal account recently got charged again. The problem is, I do not have access to the account.
Is there any way for me to speak with a support member in order to receive a credit for the $99 USD recently charged, and opt-out of the auto-payment?

Hi Jeff – The easiest thing would be if you could provide me with the 17-digit PayPal transaction ID. All of our payments are processed through PayPal, even if paid with a credit card. If you contact PayPal with your credit card information and the date and amount of the charge (Nov. 15, $99), they can give you the transaction ID. Here is their contact number:
PayPal Customer Service:
1-888-221-1161
1-402-935-2050 (if calling from outside the U.S.)I apologize for the extra step, but that number would prove your ownership of the upgrade and I could cancel and refund it.

Hi there – Ok, thanks! I’ve removed the upgrade and refunded the charge. You should see that refund on your statement in about a week and the card is gone from that account now. :)
