No 'Add New' button under Media.

  In my dashboard, when i click on Media, it does not give me any options like ‘Add New’ or ‘Library’.

  Please help.

  As long as you are logged in as an administrator or as a role that can add images, you should be able to see the options under Media. Note that you do have to click on it or the arrow to the right of it to expand the menu.

  Thank you! I do see it now.
  Earlier I was clicking on Media under ‘Settings’ instead of my main Dashboard.

  Could you help me out with another query?
  I have just changed my blog theme to ‘Spring Loaded by the 449’. How do I display only 1 post on my homepage instead of many recent posts?

  You can adjust how many posts are displayed via Settings -> Reading in your Dashboard.
