  I already pay a substantial amount every year for my WordPress site, and now you’re including ads that won’t go away unless I pay an additional $30 a year. I designed my site the way I wanted it using a number of paid upgrades, and really don’t appreciate your adding to it without my consent.

  Hi there – we sometimes display advertisements on WordPress.com sites, in order to keep free features free. We do try to make the ads discreet and only run them in limited places.

  Keep in mind that hosting is free here on WordPress.com, so even with the upgrades, it’s still a pretty good deal. :)
