no ads on premium

  • Unknown's avatar

I upgraded my site excelfort.com to premium paying $99 hoping to enjoying all the premium options available in the plane. It includes “No-Ads” as well. To my surprise, I see ads showing up in my blog when I am not logged in.

Appreciate your help on this to take those ads off my site.

    Hi Fowmy,

I visited your site http://excelfort.com/ logged out, but I didn’t see any ads on your site. Are you still seeing them? If so, could you take a screenshot of the ad and upload it to your Media Library so I can take a look?

As you requested, I have uploaded the files in my Media Library.

    File Names: Moz-ad-1, Moz-ad-2,IE-ad-1 & IE-ad-2

I tried both in IE and Mozilla

Thanks for uploading those screenshots! It looks like those ads are not being put in place by WordPress.com. You can tell by the screenshot here:

In the bottom right-hand corner, you’ll see “Brought by BuyNSave.”

When I visit your page, I’m not seeing any ads:

These are likely being put in place by some kind of malware in your browser. Can you make sure all browser add-ons have been disabled? Also could you try Google Chrome?

I tried in chrome, no ads !

So, readers of my blog who have malware infected browsers will have the same problem.

It is because WordPress.com lacks the ability to stop those malware attacks?

I think there should be improved security not allow such intrusions where unauhorized ads get posted.

let me update you after checking IE and Mozilla for any malware.

    Thanks for you support

    Hi!

Whatever is injecting the ads is operating in the browser, not on WordPress.com. So, the issue is local to your computer setup. Therefore, we can’t do anything to prevent it from happening. It would be something you would need to fix in your browser. Happy to help you try to do this!

As a first step, can you try to reset Firefox following the steps here?

    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems

Please read the list of items that will be removed from Firefox carefully:

Extensions and themes, website permissions, modified preferences, added search engines, download history, DOM storage, security settings, download actions, plugin settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features will be removed.

This will reset Firefox back to most of its basic settings.
