No ads option gone?
-
There used to be a no ads app for $39.99/yr – is this no longer available?
-
Hi,
This option is only available if you’ve kept renewing that upgrade. If you’ve had the no ads upgrade in the past and it has expired, your only options are the $99 Premium Plan or $299 Business Plan. -
Thanks for your reply. Is there no way to keep that original renewal going retroactively? $99/yr is a big jump from $39/yr just to remove ads! If I was aware I’d lose it forever I would have renewed it in time.

I can confirm that it is no longer possible to purchase the No Ads upgrade as a single upgrade. Blogs that already have that upgrade can still renew them, but for new purchases the only options are the Premium or Business plans. Should you let an existing No Ads upgrade expire, you will also not be able to purchase it again for that blog.

That sucks. The renewal email from WP should have mentioned that it would no longer be available unless purchased before expiry. Makes me consider switching websites – can’t stand ads…
-
The policy changed just before September of 2014 and we Volunteers have no ability to help with this.

Surely there must be a way… I mean we’ve been to the moon and back. Is there a way to contact an engineer directly? I’m going in circles on the support pages trying to do so.

I posted the latest Staff response at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/no-ads-option-seems-to-be-gone?replies=13#post-2530347 and contacting Staff will not result in a different answer. That I know for a fact. However, if you insist on having in Staff type the same answer again here then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread.
From the support docs at http://support.wordpress.com

I believe I had automatic renewal for my no ads option, but it was cancelled recently regardless. Can a happiness engineer please message me about any options to reconcile this?

Hi @devilsincere, individual upgrades are no longer available for purchase, though we will renew existing upgrades for you. You will want to be sure to renew any individual upgrades you wish to keep.
