No Ads option seems to be gone.

I would like to purchase the ‘No Ads’ add-on for one of my WordPress sites. I already have it on several of my sites and pay $30 per year for it on each site.

I would like to add it to another one of my sites, which I use for educational purposes, but the only options available for it are business upgrades beginning at $99 per year. I don’t need a business upgrade. I just don’t want my students to have to deal with ads when they visit our class website. I don’t need all those extra features and would prefer not to have to pay for them just to get No Ads.

    Please advise.

P.S. I think it is misleading for WP to claim to offer a ‘contact us’ option where the only option is to ‘post a question in [WP’s] public forums, where it may be answered by helpful community members.’ Thanks in advance to any helpful community members who respond, but ‘contact us’? Please.

It’s no possible to purchase No Ads upgrades individually.

The option of purchasing a No Ads upgrade as an individual upgrade disappeared over a year ago. One can renew the upgrade only on blogs that had it in place prior to September of 2014. Please see https://en.support.wordpress.com/no-ads/

I recall that the no-ads upgrade applies to the username account registration date and not the blog registration date. If the username account was registered later than 01/09/2014 then the upgrade cannot be purchased individually.

Thanks, I have seen it. Obviously that is where I looked first. There is no explanation on that support page of where the $30 option went. It just links to the business and premium options, which as I’ve said, I don’t want.

    Thanks anyway.

I’ve had the domain since 2011.

And I think a “contact us” page should lead to a way to, you know, contact them. I appreciate the steps you’ve laid out here, but those seems like ridiculous processes to have to follow to try to contact an actual person who works for WP.

OK, I’m done. Thanks again. Taking my business elsewhere.

What not wait for a Staff response? Leaving isn’t something you need to do right now, is it?

Edit: What above was meant to be Why. Sorry about that error.

  • Hi there,

I can confirm that it is no longer possible to purchase the No Ads upgrade as a single upgrade. Blogs that already have that upgrade can still renew them, but for new purchases the only options are the Premium or Business plans. Should you let an existing No Ads upgrade expire, you will also not be able to purchase it again for that blog.

Were you logged in to this account when you tried to submit the contact form? As you have a paid upgrade in this account, the contact form would have either allowed you to submit a support ticket, or start a live chat if we had enough operators available. Only logged-out users or users without any upgrades are redirected to the forums.

Jeez. I am in the same boat. I have had no ads for quite some time and want to keep it that way. I got a message it would expire in 4 days even though the renewal was set to automatic, but I couldn’t see how to renew it anywhere.

Please engineer some happiness for me!
