No ads upgrade

I have been doing a lot of reading here about the problem of ads popping up. And realize they started this in 2006. Well, first of all, I have a few free WordPress sites and they don’t have advertising on them. My latest that I started is 2017 and it started off with no advertising, and now its there, The advertising I’m getting is not related to WP. Having said all that. I was in the middle of no ads upgrade but it’s telling me I have to start a new blog or website. Is there a way around that?

As @supernovia mentioned here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/advertisement-on-sites?replies=16#post-3040648 you can upgrade your site to the Personal plan in order to remove all WordPressdotcom advertising.
If you want to purchase the Personal upgrade plan for your above website, you can do so directly from the link she gave there https://wordpress.com/plans just make sure you are in the correct site’s dashboard as all upgrade plans are per site per year.

Just to address the No Ads individual upgrade, that is no longer available on new sites.
If you currently have sites with the No Ads upgrade under a different username account (because this one is only 4 months old), as long as you keep the upgrade current you can grandfather that individual upgrade. However, as I mentioned, a separate upgrade is no longer available on new sites.

Ok. I’m not sure what you mean by your last post sorry :). I have some other sites and never show ads.
