No-Ads upgrade paid but ads displayed

I pay for the no ads upgrade annually. Today, ads have started appearing on my site. Why is WordPress breaking the contract?

Also, words used in my post text are appearing with underlining and are hyperlinked to more ads.

Those are not inserted by WP. You have a contaminated browser add-on, extension or toolbar, or possibly some kind of AdWare or Malware.
Disable all such add-ons and try again. You may have to run one or more security scans.

Google enabled a plugin called ‘coupon companion’ on my browser when it updated. I’ve removed it and the issue is resolved, thanks for your help.

Best to check things out before making accusations of breech of contract.

I accept your admonition and apologize to WordPress for jumping to a conclusion. In my defence, I noticed another user was having a similar problem before I posted, and that the ads promoter was using the same system as a non-ad-free wordpress site I visit.
