No Adverts for School

  Hi, I run a blog for a secondary school and I seem to remember that when we signed up there was an option not to receive advertisements because we are a charity. Recently the Deputy Head has complained that she has seen adverts on some of our pages and I was wondering why they were appearing. Can you please advise.

  Thanks for replying.

  Can I clarify this please, even though we are a school and originally were entitled to no adverts at all, we are now going to get them unless we pay a subscription? Has the original policy for charitable organisations changed then?

  Hi,
  This was something going back about 4 years ago when I first setup the WordPress blog for the school and was one of the important issues I looked into before signing up because I knew that the school would not allow advertising. When I signed up originally there was an option to opt in as a charitable organisation and once verified you would not get adverts. This has worked fine for all this time but recently adverts have appeared periodically. Things have obviously changed over the years but I would like to know if this still stands or whether we must now pay for this service? I think that WordPress has been excellent over the last few years and if the contract has changed then we will obviously be happy to pay for such excellent service.

  Are you sure that was on WordPress.com and not another blogging platform or WordPress.org service?

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
