No API key?

  Hey, so I just got my own, self-hosted blog, and now, it is asking me for an API key for Akismet to work, so I registred here, and then I clicked “my profile”, and there was no API key, the site was like this:
  ” Your WordPress.com API key is: . Don’t share your API key, it’s like a password. “
  So, my API key is a dot, right?
