No Categories on New Page

I started a new page entitled “Reading,” and I’m trying to get posts on that page to show up under the category I have entitled “reading.” It’s only showing up as “uncategorized,” and when I click “edit,” I see no option to change the category. Can someone help?

Thanks. Sorry if this is elementary…I’m new from blogger.

btaylor1978: you can’t put any post in your ‘reading page’ because pages (is something like a static post that) sit outside of the chronology of posts. if you want to make posts under the category ‘reading’, you need to make the new category (what you’ve done is just titled the page ‘reading’). go to dashboard, select manage, under it select categories. then add / edit as many categories as you wish there.

after that you have to write a new post, and label it as ‘reading’ category. this post will be archived when you write more new posts but to see all your ‘reading’ posts in one page. just click the reading category in your categories widget and it will load all your posts in that category.

I understand the general concept of what you’re saying, but still, the text on my “Reading” page is still tagged as “Uncategorized.” This makes me crazy. When you look at my page, do you see what I’m talking about? Can you (anyone) help me resolve it?

‘pages’ don’t have cats (alas), theme you’re using doesn’t respect this fact (renders pages as “filed into” default one i.e. “Uncat”).

i think if you edited your uncategorised category and rename it as reading, it will then be tagged as reading since options said it is filed into the default category?
