    Today I tried editing a webpage, and all of my text colors are replaced by ugly yellow highlights? what the hell is that? why not just leave the text coloring option alone? what happened to it? will you reprogram it, or should i delete the website i just spent 3 months making? unbelievable….

    I can no longer add colors to specific text within a block.
    I can only add color to all links/texts within a block,
    using the block editor in the sidebar.
    Three days ago, I was able to add specific colos, to specific text,
    within a block, using the hovering pop-up block editor (in opera browser)
    or the hovering block editor toolbar at the top of the page (in chrome browser).

    All of the text coloring that I added to webpages previously, remains intact,
    despite the removal of the text coloring tool.
    Please reimpliment this tool. You’re forcing to me to repeat the editing of
    rouhgly 2000 webpages, just so I can remove all text coloring,
    to harmonize all webpages under a single thematic color scheme.

    That means I’ll have to one-by-one, edit over 2000 webpages just to remove all the color from the text, because your team decided it was a good idea,
    to simply remove a useful tool from your websites toolbox.

    Any explanation for this?

    Is there a way I can force all text blocks across all webpages on my website, to share a single color scheme? By “force” I mean, that the changes replace all of the webpages current text-colors.

    For example, can I force every block to have white text for regular text, & red text for links?

    This would save me 300 hours of tedious programing, just to perform this sweeping action manually for the 2000 pages I’ve programed, with unique text, which is no longer supported by your website biulding tools.

    Sorry for the emotional attitude of my first responce, it was due to stress.

    Hello

    For this For example, can I force every block to have white text for regular text, & red text for links?

    Yes, you can globally However it will require CSS code, and You can only use the CSS editor to customize the appearance of any WordPress.com site with a Premium plan or higher.

    Please go to My Site → Appearance → Customize → Additional CSS and add the below code to it.

    h1 strong, .h1 strong, h2 strong, .h2 strong, h3 strong, .h3 strong, h4 strong, .h4 strong, h5 strong, .h5 strong, h6 strong, .h6 strong{
    color:#fff;
    }
    .has-text-align-center a span{
       color:#ff0 !important
    }

    okay. Thank you.

    Rather than paying a subscription, i’ll do the 300 hours of work…

    Otherwise when I die some day,
    the plan will revert and my colors will revert to their ugly messed up unglobalized nature…

    Is this true?
    Or will the global code remain intact, when my subscription expires?

    Also, do you have any news on if the “text color” option, in the toolbar, will ever be reimplimented?

  • Unknown's avatar

    By adding
    <font color=”red”> EXAMPLE TEXT </font>
    Into the “edit block as HTML” coding box,
    I’m able to change the text of individual words into specific colors.
    This… allows my achieve what I intend to achieve,
    in terms of website color scheme layout,
    although I will have to redesign each of my webpages, from scratch.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Hi there,

    The yellow highlighting you’re seeing is a bug. Our developers are investigating, but we don’t have an ETA on a fix yet. But we’re working on it.

    Is there a way I can force all text blocks across all webpages on my website, to share a single color scheme? By “force” I mean, that the changes replace all of the webpages current text-colors.

    For example, can I force every block to have white text for regular text, & red text for links?

    You can change the color settings for your site globally from the Customizer, as described here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/custom-colors/

    For more fine-grained control over colors for specific elements you’ll either need to specify it per-block in the editor, or else using custom CSS that’s available on our Premium Plan and higher.

    If you do upgrade and make changes using custom CSS, those changes will revert should you cancel the plan or allow it to expire.

    Also, do you have any news on if the “text color” option, in the toolbar, will ever be reimplimented?

    That option hasn’t been removed, just changed. You’ll now see a “Highlight” option in the drop-down instead. That allows you to change both the font and background color for specific sections of text.

    Hi – I am having exactly the same problem. When editing individual blocks the colour works, but then the text is indented on both margins. And doesn’t look right at all. I sent a message to support about 7 hours ago, but haven’t had a reply yet.

  • Hi @hopefoundinme,

    It sounds like this might be a slightly different issue, with the text getting indented, so please be patient while waiting for a reply to your support ticket. Our team replies to those in the order they’re created, so you’ll get a reply as soon as they get to you in the queue.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi – yes, thank you I will of course wait. I have no choice really. I posted on the forum last night, but had no responses. So came on here again to try and find out what is happening.

    But in the meantime I can’t edit existing posts, write drafts or post anything new. It’s pretty frustrating.

    Could I ask also when the instant messaging feature was taken down for personal plans? It was so much easier in getting an issue explained and sorted out.

  • I posted on the forum last night, but had no responses.

    Your forum thread was created at the same time you submitted your email support ticket. So it’s still in our queue and we haven’t gotten to it yet. We will :)

    Please keep in mind that it’s the weekend, so we have fewer support staff online than during the week, and it might take a bit longer to get a reply.

    Could I ask also when the instant messaging feature was taken down for personal plans?

    Live chat is available on the Personal and Premium Plan 24 hours a day, Monday to Friday. Over weekends, live chat is available only to Business and eCommerce plan customers. We haven’t made any recent changes in this regard.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes sure, of course, I appreciate weekend staffing will be different. I didn’t realise that submitting an email to support and posting on the forum linked.

    Thank you for explaining about the instant messaging. That is very good to know. I will keep that in mind when I ever have need to use it. I am relieved to hear it is still available on the personal plan.

    Thanks again for clarifying. Appreciated.

  • I just replied to your own thread. Please give the information I asked for there, and we can investigate where this indentation is coming from :)

  • Unknown's avatar

    Thank you. I have posted a reply.

  • Unknown's avatar

    Did you check now and how you actually solve the problem i am also facing same issue in my web.

  • Unknown's avatar
  • @markdstills, you don’t own any sites hosted on WordPress.com. Please don’t post into other people’s threads with unrelated issues. I’ll reply to you shortly in your own thread at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/website-is-not-secure-although-ssl-is-on/?view=all

  • Hi there,

    Just wanted to update you that the issue with the highlights being added should be fixed now, but let us know if you see it still happening anywhere on your site.
