No comment box on blog
-
Hi,
I’m losing my mind. I really like the blog I’ve created BUT no matter what I do, I can’t get a comment box to come up! I made sure to use a blog page/template when I started, but there is no way I can see to get the comment box — which is a huge thing in a blog.
I have checked settings myriad times, made sure things are enabled, boxes are checked, etc. I googled a lot, and seems like others often have this problem, but the remedies suggested on line are too complicated for me to understand. What’s the problem? Help??
Thanks much –

Hi,
The two pages of my site both have a link that says “edit” at the bottom. I can’t get rid of it, and certainly don’t want visitors to my blog to be able to edit it. Help?
In case this is related, I also can NOT get any comment boxes to show up on the blog pages, even though I used a blog template when I set it up. Are these two problems related?
If anyone can help me get rid of the “edit” link, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!! :)

Hi there!
I have merged two of your posts so that it’s easier to reply.
You don’t have to worry about the Edit button – only you can see it when you’re logged into your account. It allows you to easily edit the page when visiting your site. Your visitors don’t have this option.
As for the comments, I can see that you have created a page called Blog. If you want to blog, you will rather want to create Posts instead of Pages:

This video will also result helpful:

If you wish to keep the page you created, that’s okay too. When you edit it, on the right sidebar, you will find the Discussion Options, where you’ll be able to enable comments:
Also, remember that with your plan you can access support directly via https://wordpress.com/help/contact. That way you can get help faster.
